Safari ARMAX ‘X Series’ ECU for PXII & PX III
Only applicable for the PX II and PX III 3.2L 5-cylinder models, the Safari ARMAX Engine Control Unit (ECU) is another add-on engine performance mod that operates in parallel with the stock ECU and requires no rewiring to install while providing additional engine workload, output, and dependability.

Increased Engine Output
- Provides increased power and torque with the alteration in the timing and duration of the fuel injection to the more favorable conditions.
- Optimized turbo pressure ensures perfect air-fuel ratio.
- Serves the: improved throttle response, reduced fuel consumption and reduced the lag.

Five Driving Setups (Map Selection)
Switch between driving styles at the press of a button:
- Comfort – Eased throttle response to traction for day-to-day driving.
- Sport – Sharp throttle response and fast acceleration.
- Towing – Fuel efficient low-end torque for heavy towing.
- Traction Assist – Controlled power delivery for off-road use.
- Standard – Returns to factory settings for OEM performance and safety.
An illuminated in-cab switch and 500 mm flying lead allow for operation and positioning without restriction.

Intelligent Calibration
- Adjusts performance based on RPM range, throttle position, fuel pressure, manifold pressure, and EGT.
- A calibrated file can be retrieved by a Safari ARMAX dealer that best suits the vehicle’s setup like snorkels, intercoolers, and exhausts.

Temperature Management & Engine Safety
- Closed-loop EGT protection strategy always checks EGTs.
- Over-fueling will be reduced during overheating circumstances to protect the internals of the engine.
- Full power is slowly granted once the safe temperature is reached.
- Protection mode is activated automatically by the ECU if tolerances are exceeded.

Cold Engine Protection
- Limits performance output while the engine is cold in order to protect the components.
- As the engine warms up to the optimal temperature, the ECU’s control grows.

Throttle Sensitivity Control
- Enabling drivers to adjust the response of the engine’s throttle to suit their tastes and needs.

Durability
Completely dust-tight and can be submerged beyond one meter in depth. Includes:
- Billet aluminum heatsink base
- Outer shell of glass-reinforced ABS plastic
- Sealing along the perimeter
- Circuit board internal filled with resin
- Automotive vent for pressure equalization
With these features, the ECU is ensured to not be exposed to water, vibration, dust, or thermal shock which is frequently experienced in the harsh 4×4 environments of Australia.
